Christmas
Service Suggestions
Get children to make their Christingle live on the day. Pre-prepared oranges (with hole for candle) can be handed out as children arrive in church, along with a bag containing all the other items needed. This is a great way to get the whole family involved!
There’s nothing quite like a Live Nativity Event in your local park to attract families that wouldn’t normally consider celebrating the birth of Jesus.
The traditional Crib Service is a great way to involve very young children. You might want to consider involving your local nursery in the making of the crib.
Why not organise a Community Carol Singing Event at a suitable outdoor venue? An hour singing carols after the shops have closed has the potential to attract those for whom Christmas is a particularly busy time from a work perspective. Don’t forget the mulled wine and mince pies before you head out, and lanterns are invaluable in providing a little extra light with which to see the words!
