Service Suggestions

Consider contacting The Trussell Trust (www.trusselltrust.org/foodbank-projects) for details of your nearest Foodbank project.  Foodbanks provide a minimum of three days’ emergency food and support to people experiencing a crisis in the UK.

Profile the work of an oversees mission/aid agency (preferably one with which you already have links as a church). Most agencies produce a comprehensive harvest pack full of helpful ideas.

Take time during your service to thank God for those who produce the food that sustains us (especially if you live in an agricultural community).  The Arthur Rank Centre website is a great place to find worship resources that remember the agricultural community.

You could stage your own ‘Come Dine with Me’ dinner party, highlighting the reality of how little food some people have available to live on each day.  You could then invite your dinner guests to your church’s Harvest service.
